why i like it:
Snippy can capture
user-selectable regions of the screen. You can either draw a box
around something, or just freehand-draw the area to be captured.
My only caveat is that it doesn't automatically save the captured
region to a file. After capturing, you have to go to 'save as...'
to save it as a file, or else it just hangs out in the clipboard
waiting for you to paste it into something. Since I almost
exclusively want to capture to file, this is a little bother, but
certainly one I can live with for having such an excellent and tiny
program to capture regions of the screen. (Also, I haven't had luck
finding specifics about the software license, so I'm only assuming its
freeware.)
