why i like it:
Replaces MS Office? Yup.  Alright!  Admittedly, I'm no Office power-user, but OpenOffice.org seems to work just as well, if not better, than MS Office.  It's very configurable, too.  All I need in this package are the word processor and the spreadsheet, and there are individual programs that can accomplish these functions and take up much less room.  However, I've never used any that were so thoroughly full of features and MS compatability as OpenOffice.org.  It makes the large size (206 megs on my HD) worth it.  (And it's still smaller than MS Office, I think.)
